In the coming weeks, Tricerat will be releasing ScrewDrivers® v7.2 which will include new key features and enhancements for printing and scanning. One of the major new features that will be included will be hold and release functionality. Let's take a sneak peak at how hold and release will work with ScrewDrivers.
How Hold and Release Printing Works
Hold and release is designed for users to release print server jobs from ScrewDrivers printers. There is an option for a user to hold a job, or for administrators to hold jobs as part of the printer configuration in ScrewDrivers Administration.
When a job is held, a user can open ScrewDrivers printers on any platform (including mobile), see jobs that they have held, and release the print job.
In addition to the hold and release functionality for users and admins there will be a held print job cleanup option that will help track held print jobs that have reached their expiration date.
This is the first in a planned series of features upcoming through the year extending the function and methods of single queue printing. The hold and release feature in ScrewDrivers v7.2 will be foundational work for other features planned for later this year. Learn more by checking out how ScrewDrivers Enterprise works today.
