Tricerat has partnered with the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS) to set up a volunteering program for employees. It’s a core value of Tricerat to be an active member of the community, and this partnership continues to drive that value.
BARCS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization operating Maryland’s largest animal shelter and pet adoption center. They are an open admission shelter, granting refuge to every abandoned, neglected, abused, lost, or surrendered animal that comes through the door. A staggering 30 or more animals are surrendered to BARCS every day. No matter what the circumstance, they do not turn away any animal in need of shelter, food, medical care, and a loving touch. Yearly, this equates to more than 10,000 dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and even wildlife and exotic animals that need care and placement.
As a non-profit organization, BARCS relies heavily on the participation of volunteers for the entire operation to function. They are always in need of animal-loving volunteers to help with their mission to safeguard, rescue, heal, adopt, and advocate for animals while inspiring community action and compassion.
Creating a corporate partnership with BARCS was a no-brainer for us. It’s in our core at Tricerat to give back to the community and animal welfare is a cause our staff has always felt strongly about. Supporting BARCS’ vision and mission is not only fulfilling for our staff, but it is also critical work that assists the 30,000 animals the shelter rescues each year.
Inspired by BARCS’ mission, Tricerat has become a corporate partner and now provides volunteer opportunities for employees. Several Tricerat employees volunteer at BARCS each week, performing a variety of tasks, primarily walking dogs. This has been an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling partnership for Tricerat, and one that pushes forward our efforts to be an active and productive member of the Baltimore community.
